Update

Hey guys! I know it's been awhile...it's been crazy here in Sacramento...but I feel like I have a lot of things to share...

I have been working with the Sacramento DA's office here since January and I feel like I have enough experience to share. Essentially, the DA's office handles all crime-related cases. For example, if someone committed murder or prostitution, the DA's office is the one that takes it to court for the people to either pay a fine or go to jail. I am an intern for the Domestic Violence court -- so I go to court every morning and handle the cases there. Most of the defendants (people who are charged with the crime) plea (or accept the offer) and I am in charge of doing all of the paperwork related to that case. I'm not sure if everyone knows, but I want to be a DA someday and handle my own domestic violence cases. Domestic violence (DV) is usually when a cohabiting partner (someone a person lives with, usually a boyfriend or husband/wife) beats up the other partner. That is a crime here and it doesn't matter whether the other partner did not want to file a complaint. So, I handle cases that involve this type of crime.

I am currently doing something quite silly -- I am going on the lemonade diet. Essentially, for the next 10 days, I am ONLY drinking a lemonade concoction that has maple syrup, cayenne pepper, lemons and water. I am not going to drink anything else (except plain water) or eat anything else. This is a pain in the ass b/c I love food...but apparently, after the ten days, I can lose weight and detox my body....wish me luck!

anyway, it is late and i have to go to bed...work at 7 am tomorrow ;o(

Cousins from the phils...pls write something! I really want to know how everyone is doing.
